‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11

As an organization that has focused primarily on the emotional well-being of Survivorship, including Cancer Survivorship, we understand the emotional effects of Survivorship. We understand that Survivors may need a great deal of emotional support, as they are dealing with an endless number of emotions, including anxiety, fear, uncertainty, isolation, anger, guilt and depression to name a few. For this reason, the Cope Well Foundation developed and now promotes the importance of our 3 signature coping outlets, which include: Survivorship thru Mentorship, Live Well thru Activities and Coping thru Counseling. Each of these coping outlets has proven to be not only beneficial, but essential, for the emotional well-being of Survivors and their support systems.

Just as Survivors may experience significant emotional effects during their Survivorship Journey, they may experience significant spiritual effects as well which, ultimately, can affect the emotions they’re feeling. With a desire to add a spiritual, faith-based element to our organization to aid in the recovery of Survivors on a more spiritual level, the Cope Well Foundation is beyond thrilled to introduce our newest coping outlet, Cope with Hope, which was developed to promote the importance of spiritual well-being during one’s Survivorship Journey.

Our Cope with Hope coping outlet focuses on 2 of our most basic spiritual needs, not just as Survivors, but as individuals trying to navigate our daily lives. Those 2 spiritual needs are; 1) Prayer and 2) a Relationship with God and his son, Jesus Christ.

‘Set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth.’ Colossians 3:2
We believe that Coping through Prayer is an important part of our daily lives, as it enables us to elevate our mind from our earthly concerns to God’s heavenly interests. There are endless benefits to living a life committed to Prayer. Prayer can provide us with positive feelings such as, comfort, encouragement, joy, strength, love and peace-of-mind, all of which can help us deal more affectively with the difficulties of Survivorship, and life in general. However, we feel that the greatest benefit of Prayer is that we are able to deepen our Relationship with God and his Son, Jesus Christ, and deepening that relationship helps us feel closer to them, which can provide us with a feeling of trust and, ultimately, a sense of Hope.

With support from the Hope for the Journey Cancer Support Group through Hope Church, our Cope with Hope coping outlet also includes the distribution of our NEW ‘Cope with Hope’ Survivor Sacks. The overall purpose of the Cope Well Foundation’sCope with Hope coping outlet is simple; to aid in the emotional recovery of Survivors on a more spiritual level by focusing on 2 of our most basic spiritual needs, Prayer and a Relationship with Jesus Christ. Through this message, we hope to lead by example for those around us and make a difference in the lives of others, so that together we will ‘Cope Well to Live Well’.
